Ottawa Veteran Master Corporal Garth Lee

Veteran Garth Lee has served his country across the globe with deployments in Norway, Denmark, Cyprus, Kosovo and in the Gulf War where he was promoted to Master Corporal. Beginning his military journey with the Governor General Foot Guards in 1979, Corporal Lee transitioned to the regular force a year later. In 1998 Corporal Lee was one of the team of divers for search and rescue Swiss Air Flight 111. His dedicated service and bravery resulted in many prestigious awards including the Peacekeeping Medal, Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration, to name a few. Even in retirement, Corporal Lee's commitment to service persists, spending his time volunteering at The Royal Canadian Legion supporting Ottawa's Veteran community. Thank you, Corporal Garth Lee, for serving our country. #TeamOttawa salutes you!
