This announcement is a huge down payment.
It's a down payment on building more affordable housing.
It's a down payment on building more homes throughout the city. It's a down payment on getting things built faster.
We worked together and we worked hard to get as big a commitment as possible from the federal government.
This significant investment won't solve the housing crisis on its own.
But it is a giant leap forward for our city and allows Ottawa to take bold and immediate actions to mitigate the housing crisis, build more homes, and build faster.
This is excellent news for our city. So let's keep working together on behalf of our residents to make sure Ottawa is truly affordable for everyone.
