Half a billion dollar win for Ottawa

It was a very special morning at the Mayor’s Breakfast on March 28th. I was not surprised to see so many people in attendance to welcome the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford.

The new half a billion dollar deal for Ottawa we negotiated and announced with Premier Doug Ford responds to Ottawa’s unique challenges. It’s a big win for Ottawa residents!

Uploading the 174 back to the province is a big win for the East end and all the residents of Ottawa.

In 1997, Highway 174 was downloaded to Ottawa by the provincial government. Since then, it's cost Ottawa taxpayers millions to maintain and improve the road. Thanks to our historic new deal with Premier Doug Ford the provincial government is uploading the road again. This not only fixes a historic wrong, it will save us millions of dollars in the future. It's a big win for Ottawa's east end and all residents.

This is a great example of what residents expect from their elected leaders: that we work collaboratively and effectively together to solve problems, build better, safer, more affordable communities, and get things done.

Rural road

Our rural residents have asked for better roads to help them move their equipment and deliver their agricultural products to customers. The historic $543-million deal we negotiated and announced with Premier Doug Ford includes a big investment in rural roads to support our farmers and rural residents. It's a big win for Ottawa.

It's vitally important that we invest in our economy and support local businesses. The historic $543-million deal we negotiated and announced with Premier Doug Ford includes support for economic development, including funds for Invest Ottawa. A stronger economy will help us tackle all of our challenges. It's a big win for Ottawa.

DT revitalization

The historic $543-million deal we negotiated and announced with Premier Doug Ford includes a big investment in public safety and policing. The provincial government is supporting our plans to have a police operations centre for the ByWard Market and deploy more officers in downtown Ottawa. It also supports the new alternative response for mental health calls.

We are working together with our provincial partners to revitalize downtown Ottawa and improve public safety. The new deal we've negotiated with Premier Doug Ford brings funding for more officers in the ByWard Market and an alternative response for mental health calls.
