Canada and the Netherlands have shared a great friendship for 80 years, since the liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian soldiers in 1945. And Ottawa, the home of the Canadian Tulip Festival, and the birthplace of Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet, has been an important part of that relationship. It was a pleasure to welcome Her Excellency Margriet Vonno, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to City Hall.
