It’s not every day you get to be in a room filled with such bravery, compassion, and commitment. I had the privilege of honouring members of Ottawa Fire Services and residents who stepped up without hesitation when lives were at risk. These are the kinds of moments that don’t always make the headlines — but they define who we are as a community. To every firefighter and every civilian who received a commendation: thank you! You didn’t just save lives — you showed us the very best of humanity.
