Canada Day

On Canada Day, we hosted the mayor's breakfast for seniors at Lansdowne Park, then celebrated with residents in Riverside South, Petrie Island, Greely, Osgoode, Barrhaven, and Kanata. And we finished off the night with fireworks at Kanata.

I'm always amazed by the size and diversity of Ottawa, and I'm continually inspired by the wonderful people of our community. I met residents who like me have lived their whole lives in Ottawa, or like my parents are immigrants to Canada, including some who had just recently become Canadian citizens. I heard over and over how proud people are to be Canadian and how lucky they feel to live in Ottawa.

We have so much to be grateful for, as Canadians and as residents of Ottawa. We have a great summer ahead of us, with many festivals and celebrations. And a lot more to look forward to in the years ahead.
