Housing starts are up 68% in 2025

Great news for Ottawa: Housing starts are up 68% so far in 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. That's way above the national average of 4%. There's a lot more work to do to make housing affordable and accessible, and improve and accelerate the approval process. I'm looking forward to the recommendations from the Housing Innovation Task Force and the final draft of the new Zoning Bylaw. But this is good progress so far this year. Let's keep saying "yes" to more housing!
